The topic of the work. Traditional characters of the Ukrainian nativity scene in the story by M.V. Gogol “Night before Christmas”.
The purpose of the work: study and research of the influence of traditional characters of the Ukrainian nativity scene on modern art.
The relevance of the topic: to know and pass on to the descendants the genetic memory of our people, which is preserved in Ukrainian folk traditions and customs.
Research method: analysis of M. Gogol’s story “The Night Before Christmas” and modern versions of the depiction of traditional nativity characters, observation and comparison.
